Los Angeles County's Independent Mold Inspection Team
Clear Home Mold Testing was built on a simple idea: a mold tester should never also sell remediation. We test, we report, and we send you on your way with honest data. That's it.
Our Story
Clear Home Mold Testing was founded in Los Angeles by inspectors who spent years inside the mold-remediation industry — long enough to see the same conflict of interest play out hundreds of times. A homeowner would call a remediation company because of a musty smell or a recent water leak; the company would arrive, run a quick "test," and almost magically discover a five-figure demolition project that just happened to start the next morning. Sometimes the mold was real. Sometimes it was not. Either way, the homeowner had no neutral data to push back with.
We started Clear Home to fix that. From day one we made one rule and refused to break it: we only test. We do not perform remediation, we do not partner with a specific remediator for kickbacks, and we do not allow our inspectors to be paid based on what the report concludes. That separation is what makes a Clear Home report credible to insurance adjusters, escrow officers, attorneys, physicians and — most importantly — the homeowner footing the bill.
Today we serve every city across Los Angeles County, from the dense Westside and Hollywood corridor to the San Fernando Valley, the San Gabriel Valley, the South Bay, Long Beach, Pasadena, Glendale, the foothills, and out into the Antelope Valley. Same flat-rate pricing, same AIHA-accredited lab partner, same straightforward report format every time — whether you live in a 1920s Spanish bungalow in Eagle Rock, a hillside contemporary in Bel-Air, a mid-century apartment in West LA, or a new-construction ADU in Palmdale.
What We Actually Do (And Don't Do)
Clear Home performs two services and only two services: professional mold inspection and independent, lab-verified mold testing. Inspection is the detective work — finding the moisture source, identifying affected materials, and figuring out what is actually going on inside the building. Testing is the lab work — collecting calibrated air, surface or bulk samples and shipping them under chain of custody to an independent AIHA-accredited laboratory for spore identification and quantification.
We do not perform remediation. We do not sell encapsulation paint, ozone treatment, essential-oil "mold removal," or any other product. We do not bundle inspection with a remediation quote. If you need remediation after we test, we will hand you a short list of Los Angeles contractors we have personally watched do clean work — but we receive no referral fee, and you are free to hire anyone you want.
Why Los Angeles Trusts Clear Home
Mold is a uniquely emotional issue. It touches the air your family breathes, the value of your largest asset, your insurance claim, and sometimes a lawsuit or escrow that has to close in days. Homeowners across LA County have learned that the only way to navigate it calmly is with neutral data — and that neutral data only exists when the person collecting samples has no financial interest in the answer.
Every inspection is performed personally by a Clear Home inspector — never a sales rep, never a subcontractor sent at the last minute. We arrive on time, in a marked vehicle, with calibrated equipment that we maintain ourselves. We answer our own phones, including evenings and weekends, because mold problems do not wait for business hours. And we deliver written reports within 48 hours, formatted for use by insurance carriers, attorneys, escrow officers and physicians.
